Today is India Independence Day. I did not know that India, Pakistan and Singapore has their Independence Day so near to each other. I wonder why it is not called Independence Day for Singapore. To my dear indian colleagues and friends, a very Happy Independence Day to you.

Indon independence day is 17 august.
so we could prob just remove sgp flag's stars n moons n use 'em for our celebration :))

technically 9 Aug is not a real independence day as there is no element of breaking free from colonial rule. It is more like break away from m'sia day... :p
Yappie, you forever sound so well read.....So US call their National Day Independence Day because they also break free from colonial rule? Sorry my general knowledge is very weak.

If you are in Indonesia, you would be working on 9th August. You had taken your Independence Day holiday on our National Day.
